Welcome to our home makeover! There is approximately 7,423 “parts” to this makeover series since my design taste has significantly changed over the 8 years we’ve owned our house. My husband jokes that we are losing square footage because I paint so much!
This will also be a 2-for-1 post as the house happens to be decorated for Halloween!
I figured the easiest place to start would be the front entry. The first thing you see when you walk into our home. Our house was built in 1958 so the finishes were very old school and bland. The first thing we did in the entry was to rip out was was lovingly refered to as the “medical window”. (Seen in the photo)
All of the trim was painted white, walls were painted (possibly a few times!) and the exterior and interior doors were changed.
The final look is just was I was hoping for. Old meets new, but feels warm and inviting. I’m sure I’ll change things around here and there and I am already looking for some specific antique doors to replace the standard 6 panel doors we have now, but I’m not in a hurry! At least not today!
