Hello 2019!

Oh.  My.  Goodness.

Hello everyone!

It has been a while and I appologize.  After posting every single day in the month of October for the 31 Days of Pumpkin series, I decided to take a little break, offer myself some grace and try to take some pressure off for the holidays.  It was so worth it!

I am a bit refreshed and ready to go for the new year! I have some road trips I’m working on for our family, home projects and a few new things in the works that I’m super excited and extremely nervous about.

Last year I wrote this post about my intentions, or hopes, for 2018.  I crushed one and pretty much failed miserably on the rest.  I’m not big on resolutions, but I find that the beginning of the year offers a fresh perspective on a lot of things and just seems like a great time to kick life in the ass.

Here is what I had envisioned for 2018:

1. Declutter our home once and for all. Organize what’s left. Aim for minimalism. (Made a huge dent in this one, but still have a bit to go!)

2.  Be more present and disconnect more. (Need to work on this A LOT more)

3.  Meal plan. (Didn’t do a whole lot, but when I did, it was amazing!  Really need to focus on this in 2019)

4.  Travel more. ( We took 2 family trips this year!  I’m planning more road trips for this year!)

5.  Lose 30 pounds. (I came to the realization that I love food and wine too much!)

6.  Read at least 2 books per month.  Possibly start a book club. (I didn’t start the book club YET, but crushed the reading!  I read 43 books and listened to 6 Audibles!  I plan on blowing this out of the water this year)

7. Learn to crochet. ( I took a knitting class and a hand knitting class and LOVED them!  I made 8 had-knit blankets for Christmas gifts this year!)

8.  Start more design work. (More to come)

9.  More date nights with hubby. (Sadly, failed.)

10.  Finish all lingering house projects. (Came pretty darn close)

11.  Find new ways to expand the blog. (Ongoing…)

12.  Do more fun stufff with the kids (museums, classes, etc.) (I still want to see this area improve)

Life happens and not everything was done, but not the end of the world.  Being able to flow with things is much more important.

So, lets touch on the topic I did crush!  Here are the books I read in 2018. I loved them all (if a book doesn’t grab my attention in the first few chapters I can’t go on).  My absolute favorites have an asterisk..
